ITINERARY

Arrival in Kigali, welcome by your guide and traditional lunch. Visit to the genocide memorial to learn about the country's history, then check into your downtown hotel.

Road to Cyangugu with a stop in Nyanza to visit the traditional royal palace and see the sacred Inyambo cows. Lunch en route and installation on the shores of Lake Kivu.

Morning trek into the Nyungwe forest to meet the chimpanzees. An hour's observation in the forest, then back to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon on the shores of Lake Kivu.

Morning at leisure, then drive to Kibuye along Lake Kivu. At the end of the day, take a sunset cruise to admire the islands and lake scenery before settling in at the lodge.

Departure for Ruhengeri, at the foot of the Virunga volcanoes. Check-in at the ecolodge and afternoon free to relax before the gorilla encounter the following day.
